I combine neuroscience-backed approaches with creative, out-of-the-box thinking to help folks do deep healing and get the lasting transformation they have been looking for.

I hold a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from York University and have extensive training and certifications in various therapy modalities. Since completing my MSW in 2010, I have worked in diverse mental health settings: a hospital, residential mental health treatment centre for youth, walk-in counseling clinic, in-home intensive therapy and community-based youth mental health services. In addition to this experience, I have worked with youth, adults and families in private practice since 2013.

Why I love therapy…

Things that I value in life (and in my work) include: showing up as an imperfect human, humour, and creativity. Even in the moments of working through the deepest pain, we might laugh (or swear) together. Our work together is a space that you can bring your whole self. We can challenge each other and this is part of the respect and trust that we build. There is not a big difference in how I show up in the therapy room from how I show up in my life – people tell me they like working with me because I don’t give off overly ‘therapist-y’ vibes.

That said, I am a self-professed therapy nerd, learning about new theory, techniques and applications in my spare time. The combination of my expertise and experience, our combined creativity and commitment to your healing, and your feedback about what techniques resonate for you (or not!) are the ingredients to helping you move towards the version of ‘you’ that you want to be.


In case you wanted to know more

I am currently on the wild ride of parenting two small humans. I have also been on my own journey of recovery from people-pleasing and burnout. In my spare time (which admittedly is very little), I am involved in an initiative advocating for racial equality. Social justice is important to me – it is why I got into social work and therapy. As a straight, white, cis-gendered settler, I am committed to ongoing learning and personal healing work around the ways that systems of oppression impact and impact our lives, our bodies, and our psyches. I am comfortable talking about identity, social location, power and privilege as it relates to our internal and external world, as well as the therapy space/process.
